LUDMILA BERLINSKAYA AND ARTHUR ANCELLE, both from families of famous pianists and accomplished soloists, form a piano duo characterized by a profound mutual understanding. With their distinctive stage presence, original repertoire, innovative concert formats, and ability to connect with the audience, they aim to help elevate the piano duo to the same status as all other forms of chamber music. The duo, which has been performing together since 2011, has compiled a repertoire that includes, among other things, the greatest hits for two pianos and four hands, as well as rare works featuring original compositions and new transcriptions. Each season they are guests in the most beautiful concert halls, including the Philharmonie de Paris, the Radio France Auditorium, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the Salle Gaveau, the Salle Cortot, the Philharmonic Halls in Moscow and St. Petersburg, the Mariinsky Concert Hall, and the Megaron in Athens. They are invited to prestigious festivals such as the Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad, the Tokyo Spring Festival, Rota das Artes in Lisbon, the Lille Piano Festival, Lisztomanias, and the Pianofolies du Touquet. Strengthened by their intensive recording activity as a duo, as soloists, and as chamber musicians, Ludmila Berlinskaya and Arthur Ancelle have already released ten joint albums, all of which have been highly received and awarded by the international press. The two artists are dedicated to promoting and sharing their art. They teach a class exclusively for piano duos at the École Normale de Musique de Paris and are the artistic directors of the Piano-Piano project. This includes the Rungis Piano-Piano Festival, the Académie Piano-Piano and the open Piano-Piano Database, all dedicated to the world of piano music as a duo and for four hands.
