Programme »Six Petits Concerts«

3rd to 5th June 2022

Since the »Rarities of Piano Music« had to be cancelled in 2020 due to the corona virus, the idea arose to organise a smaller piano festival in 2021 to fill the gap: the »Six Petits Concerts«.

The title is based on Charles-Valentin Alkan’s so-named concerts in the 1870s in the “Salle Érard” in Paris, with which he returned to the podium after a break of more than twenty years. In each of the six concerts of this extra festival, one piece from Alkan’s little-known 30 “Chants” will be heard – a small homage to the author of the title and a common theme that connects these concerts.

Among the composers of the works that will be heard in the excitingly compiled programmes are some who have not appeared in the festival programmes of the »Rarities of Piano Music« in the past 33 years – names like Mel Bonis, Deodat de Séverac,  Vianna da Motta, Hélène de Montgeroult, William Grant Still.

Unfortunately, the pandemic situation did not allow the festival to be held in 2021 either.

The new date for the »Six Petits Concerts« is June 3rd to 5th, 2022.
